1st Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday Emma - we love you. We had a great party with my mommy friends and some family. Emma and the babies played with toys while we congratulated ourselves for surviving a year without sleep. This was her first taste of sugar and she wasn't quite sure what she thought of it, but eventually realized that the frosting was tasty and she slathered it all over her face. Emma's cake was a small white cake with raspberry frosting ( the same thing I sent to daycare for her party). We had a chocolate cake that was shaped like an owl. Her party was owl themed because she was really into poking the big eyes of owls in her books. Emma's favorite thing was being lifted up to hit the banner that read, " Happy 1st Birthday Emma."

Family

The Chorbis came to visit and Emma had a great time with them. She thought Kyle was hilarious and she liked to watch Kaitlyn. We celebrated Kris' birthday and they taught me how to make tie blankets.

Playtime w/ a cousin

Owen got a train table and Emma loved to destroy the tracks. Grandpa kept calling her Godzilla. She would break the tracks and eat the people whenever the opportunity arose. Poor Owen had a hard time sharing at first, but after a few days he figured out how to distract Emma so he could drive safely by.

Christmas Day

Emma woke up to find her stocking and lots of goodies. She didn't really get the idea of unwrapping, but she liked to play with all the toys, especially the books - she loves to read. This year was the year of the horse; she got some ride on toys and a great cowgirl outfit. Grandma tried to make everybody perform holiday songs, but we all prepared for the same song - Jingle Bells. Maybe we'll get more exciting next year!

Just cause

She is cuddling with her daddy - isn't that cute!

And here she is after we finished decorating the house - more cutness!

Trees

We went to the farm to get a tree for our house. This was a really cool farm; it had so many varieties that we had never seen before. Emma like to touch the branches and watch all the people rushing around. Despite all the fabulous trees, Patrick insisted on buying a hideous, sad Charlie Brown tree. He loved it and kept saying it was the friendliest tree he had ever seen (and I don't know why). LOL, Next year I am picking the tree!
